Castles and Concerts

Here’s how the trip will look. Sailing north from Rome, we’ll visit the Italian and French Rivieras, with stops at Cinque Terra and Portofino, Italy and Cannes, France. We’ll spend two days and nights in Monte Carlo, the capital of the principality of Monaco. On our way back to Rome we’ll stop for a day in Ajaccio, Corsica. This is the town where Napoleon was born. As Emperor, he showered favors on this small coastal town and had many public buildings erected. He raided the Louvre and sent masterpieces by Titian, Bellini, Boticelli and others to his hometown museum. We return to Rome on Sunday, May 10th.

Each day on the ship will hold something new and exciting; excursions, concerts and adventures ashore. Nights will be filled with music, dining, dancing under the stars. Some will enjoy trying their luck in the onboard casino or a relaxing swim, spa or massage. Some of our favorite entertainers, including Joe Lerer, the Montgomerys, David Jackson, Raul Reynoso, Jim Salestrom and Patrick Martin will be with us. They will be at the ready to liven up the afternoons, cocktail hours and shows after dinner along with classical stars (some from the San Francisco Opera) who will perform at our gala in Monaco. Familiar names here include Erich Stratmann, Richard Evans, Susan Witt-Butler, Will Connoly, Cliff Romig and Julio Reyes.
